A flexible space - designed with teenagers in mind.
A space to thrive
With new multi-functional workshop spaces, the Hub allows learning, enterprise and work-readiness skills to be delivered to young people up to the age of 18. Maximising on Harmeny’s exceptional wooded and landscaped grounds, the Hub is also the launchpad for our year-round outdoor education programme.
Designed in an L shape, each learning space within the Hub also provides easy access to the outdoors, providing our young people with relaxing and inviting environments to learn. A variety of break out spaces are available for one to one support and socialising around the school day.
Supporting young people at Harmeny beyond 14
Young people at Harmeny can now continue to live and learn at Harmeny up to 18 years old, if needed. This enables them to receive the same chances to engage with further education, training and work as other young people.
Building confidence and uncovering hidden talents
The new Learning Hub allows us to work with young people to access skills-based secondary education programmes designed around their needs and interests. Giving them more time to recover from early years trauma and build resilience.
We can now support more young people to discover their strengths, increase their employability and grow towards their potential.
Extending our reach
In addition, the Hub provides the capacity we need to extend our reach via a new secondary day education service for those living in our wider community.
Working in partnership with local schools, colleges and business, we will help more young people from the wider community to gain the skills and confidence they need to move on to positive destinations such as employment, apprenticeships, college or university.
Thank you for turning this dream into reality
The creation of the Learning Hub has been possible thanks to the incredible support of our donors and funders. Thank you for helping to build a brighter future for some of Scotland’s most remarkable young people.
