Our Team

At Harmeny you will meet lots of adults that all have different roles. They will look after you, help you learn lots of new skills, support you with your interests and hobbies. Here are some of the adults you might meet:

Care Worker

Care Workers will look after you at Harmeny. Each cottage has care workers that make sure that you feel safe, heard, and cared for. They will take you out on holidays, day trips and to your weekly activities. They will also help keep you in touch with you family and siblings.

Teacher

Your teacher will help you to tackle maths problems, get your spelling right and help you learn about the world. Teachers make sure they explore lots of different topics with their class. You’ll often find classes creating projects and going on trips outside of Harmeny.

Homemaker

Each cottage has a homemaker. You can find the homemakers making yummy meals for everyone in their cottage every day. They will help to teach you about food, nutrition and show you some cooking skills.

Estates Team

The Estates Team make sure that the buildings and grounds around Harmeny are looking their best all year round. You might see them clearing up with a leaf blower, or mowing the lawns. If something needs fixing in your cottage, they will be the team to come and fix it!

Education Support Worker

This is someone who will be in the classroom with you, helping you to complete your work. They are there to make sure you feel heard and can contribute to the lesson along with everyone else in the class.

Outdoor Education

Not every lesson is inside the classroom! At Harmeny you will have lots of adventures outside, and learn all about nature and wildlife. You might be learning how to make a fort one day, or learning how to do bike maintenance the next.

Volunteers

Volunteers help out around Harmeny. They might run an activity that you can get involved in or help out in the Community Garden.

Social Educator

Social Educators work with your teachers and care staff to help you learn more about how to stay healthy and happy. They are very creative and will get you involved with lots of activities!

Support Services

Other adults you might see around Harmeny work in Support Services. They do lots of different things from helping with IT, taking photos of events and organising time for you to spend with key people in your life.

Care Worker (Nights)

At bedtime, night awake workers will stay up all night long, so that you are never alone in your cottage. They will make sure that you are safe in bed and can sleep well in your room.

Therapist

You’ll meet different kinds of therapists who get you involved in activities like art or music. They are people who will listen and talk to you about what is on your mind and help to answer questions you might have about your family.

Assessment and Planning Worker

Assessment and Planning Workers help all of the important adults in your life work together to make sure you are happy and safe, and that you are listened to and that your views are heard.
