Our supporters fireblazed their way through Harmeny’s Walk the Flames challenge this November and raised over £12,500 for the Learning for Life Appeal!
24 brave walkers took on the Walk the Flames Challenge
Mind over matter
The brave walkers walked, not once, but twice over 620 degrees Fahrenheit of burning wood embers, using mind over matter to complete the task.
Barry Collins and his team at Success Formulae made sure that all participants were fully briefed and ready to get into the zone and take the first step onto the coals.
Fantastic support from family and friends
Our heroes were cheered on by their friends and family, as well as the children and adults at Harmeny who had watched the fire being prepared and been entertained by Chrisalis, a fire performer and artist from the Fire Club of Edinburgh.
Congratulations to all who took part
We were joined by a team from RBC Brewin Dolphin who have recently joined us as one of our new charity partners for 2022/23, plus representatives from Thomas Johnstone Ltd, Natwest and PW & Partners as well as Harmeny staff and volunteers.
Over £12,500 raised
Huge thanks to everyone for your generous sponsorship and to all our participants. Every pound raised has brought us closer to our £3.1m goal. Your support will give young people who have had some of the hardest starts in life the skills, opportunities and support they need to overcome adversity and lead happy, fulfilling lives.
